Connecting To Cathay Pacific Inflight Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available shortly after take-off. To get connected, simply follow the steps below.

  • Enable Wi-Fi on your mobile device while it’s still in airplane mode
  • Connect to the Cathay Pacific network in your Wi-Fi settings 
  • A connection page will pop up. If not, open an internet browser on your device and enter wifi.cathaypacific.com
  • Select your internet pass and proceed with the payment.
  • You will be sent an email receipt with your login details. These login details can be used to switch devices – select ‘Login’ on your new device and enter the details. 

For an optimal in-flight Wi-Fi experience, consider these helpful tips.

Firstly, choose a pass that aligns with your specific needs; for instance, a Message Pass is ideal for messaging and chatting, not for extensive email or internet browsing.

Cathay Pacific only provides complimentary WiFi in first class, although on occasion, users may come across special promotions at the Cathay Pacific WiFi register screen that provides up to an hour of internet access for free.

When the aircraft reaches above 1000 feet you can get internet access on your wifi-enabled devices which include mobile, tablet, laptop etc. You can browse the web, send and receive emails, shop online, use your social media accounts etc. CPA has paid wifi services based on an hourly basis. Cathay Pacific Inflight Wi-Fi Coverage  

Cathay Pacific’s A350 aircraft are connected to the internet via Panasonic, and Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft are connected to Gogo.

The Cathay Pacific Wi-Fi network has a speed limit of 3Mbps for A350 aircraft, whereas 10Mbps is expected for A330 and B777 aircraft due to the updated quicker satellite system installed onboard. You can switch devices using your login details, but you can’t use more than one device at a time.

Panasonic provides inflight Wi-Fi connectivity to Cathay Pacific (A350 aircraft) and GOGO provides Wi-Fi connectivity to Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft.
