Delta Hubs in the United States

Delta flies to various domestic and international destinations from 9 airports in the United States. These airports are located in Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Salt Lake City, and Seattle.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)

Atlanta Airport (ATL) is one of the primary international airports in the United States that primarily serves Atlanta. The airport is officially known as Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

ATL Airport is a primary hub for Delta Air Lines, and also a focus city for Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines. It is one of the busiest airports in the world and is served by domestic as well as international carriers.

The Atlanta Airport infrastructure features two passenger terminals: The Domestic Terminal, and the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal). The domestic terminal accommodates Concourses A, B, C, D, E, and T whereas Concourse F can be found in the international terminal.

The Domestic Terminal is available on the western side of the Atlanta Airport and is divided into North, and South Terminals by an atrium. Delta Air Lines operates from the South Terminal, and Terminal I – Maynard International Terminal with its own curbside check-in and baggage claim area.

The majority of gates at Concourse A are operated by Delta. A Delta Ticket Service Center, a Delta Self-Service Center, and a Delta Sky Club Lounge are available at Concourse A. Concourses B, C, D, E, F, and T are also used by Delta for domestic flights.

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

Logan International Airport (BOS), commonly known as Boston Logan or simply Logan, is the primary international airport serving the Greater Boston region. It is the primary hub for Delta Air Lines and Cape Air and also a focus airport for JetBlue Airways.

BOS Airport features four passenger terminals: Terminal A, Terminal B, Terminal C, and Terminal E. Terminal D is skipped as the D Gates were rearranged, renumbered, and labeled as part of Terminal E in 2006.

Among two terminals, Terminal A is split into the Main Terminal, and a Satellite Terminal. Delta Air Lines operates from both these terminals at BOS Airport. Passengers can move between the Main, and Satellite terminals via an underground pedestrian tunnel.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW)

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is among the major international airports in the United States that serve Detroit, Michigan, Toledo, and Ohio. DTW is owned/operated by Wayne County, and is Michigan’s busiest airport.

Detroit Airport is a primary hub for Delta Air Lines, and also a focus city for Spirit Airlines. Almost 16 airlines including domestic, and international carriers operate flights to and from DTW.

There are two passenger terminals at DTW Airport which are known as the Edward H. McNamara Terminal, and Warren C. Evans Terminal (formerly known as the North Terminal).

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is one of the major airports located in Westchester, California. LAX is the primary hub for big airlines including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Alaska Airlines.

There are 8 passenger terminals at LAX which are numbered from Terminal 1 to Terminal 8, and the 9th one is known as Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B).

Delta Air Lines used to operate only from LAX Terminal 2 however, the terminal has been changed to the new Terminal 3. Delta, and Aeromexico passengers receive check-in, and security screening service at Terminal 3 instead of Terminal 2. Terminal 2, and Terminal B will be used by the Delta partner airlines.

Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP)

Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is one of the major international airports located in Minnesota. It is owned and operated by the Metropolitan Airports Commission and serves Minneapolis–Saint Paul region.

MSP Airport is the major hub for Delta Air Lines, and Sun Country Airlines. Terminal 1, and Terminal 2 are the two passenger terminals that hold a total of 131 gates.

Delta Air Lines operates from Terminal 1 at MSP, and flies to 120+ domestic, and international destinations. Terminal 1 is bigger in terms of area than Terminal 2 as you can see in the MSP Terminal map above. Terminal 1 holds 117 gates accommodated across seven concourses (A–G) whereas Terminal 2 accommodates 14 gates in one Concourse (H).

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

John F. Kennedy International Airport, commonly known as New York-JFK, is one of the major international airports serving New York City in the New York Metropolitan area. JFK is the primary hub for Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines, and a focus airport for JetBlue Airways, Eastern Airlines, and Polar Air Cargo.

JFK Airport features six terminals including Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 4, Terminal 5, Terminal 7, and Terminal 8. Terminals 3, and 6 were demolished in 2013, and 2011 respectively.

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)

The Salt Lake City Int’l Airport (SLC) is among the busiest airports in the United States located five miles northwest of downtown Salt Lake City. SLC facilitates 370+ daily flights to 99+ nonstop destinations.

SLC Airport is equipped with two passenger terminals including Terminal 1, and Terminal 2. Delta Air Lines operates from Terminal 2.

The airport is also going through a new massive project to accommodate 34 million passengers and to replace the five existing concourses with two liner concourses named the South Concourse and the North Concourse. These linear concourses will be connected by a passenger tunnel.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)

Seattle-Tacoma known as SeaTac Airport (SEA) is one of the primary international airports in Seattle, Washington. This commercial airport is located 23km south of Downtown Seattle and 29km north-northeast of Downtown Tacoma.

SEA Airport is ranked 8th among U. S. airports for passenger activity and 21st for air cargo. It is the primary hub for Delta Air Lines, and Alaska Airlines.

The airport infrastructure is equipped with only one passenger terminal ‘The Main Terminal’ which is divided into South Main Terminal, and North Main Terminal. The North Main Terminal accommodates Concourses C, D, and N whereas the South Main Terminal holds Concourses A, B, and S.
