Tan Son Nhat Int’l Airport (ICAO: VVTS, IATA: SGN) is the only international airport in Ho Chi Minh City. It is owned and operated by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam.

Long Thanh International Airport
Long Thanh Int’l Airport is set to become the new international airport close to Ho Chi Minh City. This huge airport project is expected to complete by the year 2040 with the first phase completion target by 2025.
Long Thanh is in construction to match the 4F Airport standards which is known as the highest airport class. It will cover a total surface area of 5,000 square meters along with additional 25,000 square meters for the airport infrastructure.
The new international airport is expected to feature four passenger terminals and four runways. With its completion, the airport will be able to serve 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo every year by 2040.
It is also expected the new airport will contribute 3 to 5 per cent of Vietnam’s GDP. Talking about the flight operation, it will replace Tan Son Nhat International Airport as a major international hub connecting Vietnam with various destinations across the globe.
Long Thanh Airport project is categorized into 3 phases. Phase 1 began in 2021 and will run till 2025, Phase 2 will initiate from 2025 to 2035 whereas Phase 3 will begin from 2035 to 2040.
